As Democrats fall into powerlessness, this Fourth of July echoes with new signs of their desperation and defeat.

A week before Independence Day, the U.S. Supreme Court removed the chains that government union bosses had used for eight decades to enslave public workers.

Those union bosses extorted dues and other payments from government employees, then gave their money to Democratic candidates.

The High Court recognized that almost a third of government employees are Republicans or Republican-learning independents coerced into funding Democrats.

This betrayed all taxpayers, because union donations often elect the very politicians who will sit opposite them at the bargaining table, and who owe their election to union cash. It has been a vast money-laundering operation in which politicians let unions extort dues, and unions bankroll politicians.

Public unions are themselves partisan – in effect, as the Wall Street Journal’s Dan Henninger wrote, “political parties” with leftist ideological agendas they impose on government policies.

They are a union monopoly on top of a government monopoly – which even “progressive” President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (who as leader of America’s racist Democratic Party put tens of thousands of Japanese Americans into concentration camps because of their race) condemned.

Four of the biggest public employee unions in 2016 contributed $166 million to candidates, making them the largest of all Democratic donors. (Trial lawyers are second, after unions.) The questions now are whether the unions can somehow circumvent the new law that requires them to obtain consent from workers, and whether the Democrats can win, or even survive, without these gigantic infusions of stolen extorted worker money. In a sense, this is also Democrat-stolen taxpayer money, because it has been taken at gunpoint from taxpayer-paid employees.

Desperate Democrats are already turning to other ways to win in 2018 and beyond, including domestic terrorism, intimidation and coup d’etat. Only a year ago a supporter of Democratic Party primary candidate and avowed socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) shot Rep. Steve Scalise (R.-LA) and was stopped by Capitol Police before he could gun down several other Republican lawmakers.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) urged Democratic mobs to intimidate Republicans wherever they appeared, including restaurants and gas stations. But, she claimed, she was not advocating violence. Nonsense. It is assault merely to hold a club threateningly near a person’s body. It becomes assault and battery when that person is clubbed. Waters calls for assaults.

Democrats have approved of personal violence in politics for most of the past 100 years. They have given labor union thugs a kind of 00-HATE James Bond license to slash tires, destroy property, and beat and occasionally kill workers who replace those on strike.

But this precedent of violence is now broadly replacing debate, practical compromise and elections in our democracy and universities, because Democrats increasingly lose in a free, democratic society.

Union membership has fallen to only about 6.5 percent of workers – when workers are allowed to vote by secret ballot with what FDR called “Freedom from Fear.” This, by the way, is why unions and Democrats want to replace secret ballots with “card check,” in which individual members can be intimidated by union goons into accepting unionization of a company.

Representative Waters is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, long affiliated with Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), a group that now threatens Democrats from the far left.

Days ago, the #4 ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives – a likely successor to leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) – was defeated, after 10 terms in office, in New York’s 14th District by a 28-year-old Latina activist in DSA.

At the same time, Democratic Socialists of America was shutting down ICE immigration offices in Portland, Oregon and other cities. A mob of DSA bullies assailed Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen at a restaurant.

The Democratic Party has already moved far to the left – but not far enough or fast enough to satisfy DSA or others in its radical base.

Since 1992 the Communist Party USA has ceased to run its own presidential candidates, ordering members instead to vote for the Democrat. Hillary Clinton thus ran with the endorsement of the Communist Party that used to be funded and directed by Moscow … but the liberal-left media never asked Mrs. Clinton or any other Democrat to renounce this support or explain why Communists now see Democrats as ideological allies.

The Democratic Party, it seems, is justly doomed – but will its demise come from patriotic Americans, or from its extremist socialist authoritarians willing to ruin America if they cannot rule it?  ####

We used to think of weather as an Act of God, and of terrible storms or droughts as a sign that a nation’s rulers had sinned, lost the “Mandate of Heaven,” were suffering divine punishment, and ought to be replaced.

Iran, unwilling to acknowledge God’s hand behind its current punishing drought, is blaming someone else – Israel.

The Jewish State, said Iran’s Civil Defense chief Brigadier General Gholam Ridha Jalali days ago, has been using cloud seeding or other technologies to steal Iran’s rain and snow.

Seven years ago former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad likewise claimed that “European countries used special equipment to force clouds to dump” their moisture before reaching Iran.

General Jalali claimed to have scientific evidence showing snowfall above 7,000 feet elevation on mountains from Afghanistan to the Mediterranean – except in Iran. But even the head of Iran’s meteorological service, Ahad Vazife, scoffed that it is not possible for a country to steal snow or clouds.

Nations including China, Russia and the United States have invested in weather modification technologies, and this raises serious questions about whether weather can be blamed on governments, not God.

International law sets clear standards if one nation takes more than its share of water from a river shared by other countries downstream. But long-established natural patterns and wind currents also create “rivers in the sky” that routinely bring rain and snow.

In recent decades, Idaho threatened to sue the state of Washington, claiming that Washington cloud seeding was rustling Idaho’s rain.

The United States was accused of using ENMOD, Environmental Modification Warfare technologies, to cause devastating floods in North Vietnam.

America’s Project Stormfury, which experimented with cloud seeding to steer or weaken hurricanes, was accused by Cuba and several Central American nations of causing flooding or drought.

When weather becomes an act not of God but of governments or corporations, does harmful weather justify lawsuits or even war?

One problem with “modified” weather is that no such thing as universally “good” weather exists. You want a sunny day for a picnic. The farmer nearby wants a rainy day for his crops.

Coors Beer was criticized for cloud seeding above a Colorado valley to help its hop farmers. Potato farmers there could be harmed by perfect hop weather.

Weather and climate (a 30-year averaging of weather) is a precious resource that determines what it costs to survive and grow food in a country. That cost can soar if weather and climate run to wild extremes of hot or cold, wet or dry. Some states now enforce government ownership over rainwater that falls on your roof.

Those who claim the Earth’s climate is warming point to vast potential harm and responsibility. As Craig R. Smith and I document in our recent book “Money, Morality & The Machine,” one of the heads of the United Nations International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Dr. Ottmar Endenhofer, has acknowledged the politics behind global warming.

“We redistribute de facto the world’s wealth by climate policy,” said Endenhofer. “One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore.…”

The real agenda, said UN climate policy chief Christiana Figueres, a Costa Rican diplomat, is “to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the industrial revolution.”

The economic system the U.N. aims to “change” through climate policy is free market capitalism. Its intended replacement is global collectivist socialist government.

This is why global warming zealots are called “watermelons” – green outside but red inside. Their goal is to make the United States and other capitalist nations pay at least $100 trillion, and to bring all private property and capitalist free enterprise under authoritarian global government control.

Their original scam was to impose massive controls quickly, then claim credit for saving the world when no global warming occurred. But their power grab was delayed, and little global warming has happened during the past 20 years.

Warming scientists, meanwhile, have repeatedly been caught faking their data to “hide the decline” actually measured in global temperatures. Yet these politicized “scientists” have not been fired or discredited for their dishonesty and corruption. But their great deception has failed.

Is Israel or God or global warming behind Iran’s drought? Honest scientists admit that they do not know. Recurring cycles of drought in the Middle East and U.S. Midwest are driven by complexities we do not yet understand. Last winter it snowed in the Sahara Desert.
